iPhoto slideshow to iMovie?

Hi. Is there a way to import a slideshow from iPhoto into iMovie? I edited through roughly 600 or so images and narrowed it down to 150 for the slideshow. I don't want to have to go through all that editing again. The reason I want it into iMovie is for the soundtrack editing features in iMovie '08. A work-around would be fine. Just dont want to edit those 600 images again! 😉

I have found another woraround for this problem. This will allow you to go from slide show in iPhoto to iMovie to iDVD. You slide show should not be much over 100 slides. But you will be able to combine slide shows if you have more slides.
The following are the steps I followed:

iPhoto
SLIDE SHOW
FILE
EXPORT
SLIDESHOW
(PICK TYPE)
EXPORT TO “iPhoto Slideshows” / OK

iMovie
File
import
MOVIES/IPHOTO SLIDESHOWS
CHOOSE SIZE/IMPORT
NEW PROJECT
CLICK AND DRAG TO PROJECT LIBRARY
NAME
HIGHLIGHT
SHARE / IDVD
iDVD
OPEN
MOVE PROJECT INTO FIRST SLIDE
ADVANCE / LOOP MOVIE
MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AND BURN TO DVD

The easiest way would be to drag those 150 photos into an iPhoto Album. You may have created an album to make your slideshow. If so you already have it. If not, create a new album and drag these photos into it.

In iMovie, you can open the Photo Browser and drag in this album. It will keep the same order. And you can fully edit each photo and add transitions, titles, etc.

On the other hand, if you want to keep all transitions and effects you have added, you will need to export your slideshow as a QuickTime Movie. Make sure you set the export to automatically advance, as opposed to allowing for manual advance. iMovie will not edit it if it has a manual advance track. If you do it this way, you will not be able to edit anything, but you will be able to add sound.

You can't export a completed slideshow (w/music and transitions) from iPhoto to iMovie using iLife "08". You can export the slideshow to iMovie HD,,, which is the previous version and then send it to iDVD. My objective was to make two slideshows with music and transitions,,, then have them play consecutively. Sooooo,, if you make your slideshows in iPhoto,,, you can export them to the prior version of iMovie which is iMovie HD,,,,edit them how you wish,,,, then send them to iDVD for burning. According to the "Missing Manual" by David Pogue,,, it's a good idea to have both on your computer anyway as you can switch your project from one to the other and use the best of both worlds. iMovie 08 doesn't have many of the features that iMovie HD.
