When my buddy forwards me an e-mail with attachments (usually jpg images) they come through as MIME attachments and I can't see them

What is he doing wrong

Hi BOBG - no idea where "quick look" is and there is no attachment list. These emails always have the subject line, the text message portion of the email and then just a gray square box with the words "mime-attachment" below it. There are no other options and you can tap it until the cows come home, nothing happens. I'm using yahoo mail.

Anyone else know what to do with this? I keep searching the internet and find that literally hundreds of people are out there trying to find a solution and no one seems to have one. Apple, of course, does not address it in their online documentation.

When Mail merely says an attachment is a MIME attachment, it means that there is inadequate file format information to say more. Most, if not all, attachments you will receive in the normal course via email will be MIME, but when the extension or other file format information is included, it will not mention MIME.

If the file was created on a PC, and does not have an extension (such as .jpg, .doc, .pdf, etc.), then Mail nor any other email client will know what the file type is supposed to be.

What are the files you are receiving supposed to be?
