Frame Size Limit in Snow Leopard

I seem to have hit a frame size limit where movies with widths greater than 8192 pixels wide do not display correctly in QuickTime or Export correctly from QT7. The files are being created by After Effects CS3, and larger files can be reused as source material with no problems - yet any rendered movies do not display previews or play back in either QTX or QT7. Any attempts to Export files larger than 8192 pixels wide from QT7 will also result in a " qtKitErrorCatchAll (-6660) " error. This was not the case under QT 7.6.3 under Leopard - we've been generating extremely wide LED fascia strip animations for sports venues for many years and haven't seen this type of bug since one of the incremental QT7.2.x upgrades way back... I'm hoping that somebody else has experienced this issue as well, and perhaps large frame size compatibility can be restored in future QTX and QT7 for Snow Leopard updates based on this information.
