How to select multiple items?? And how much ram can I have

What key do I hold down to click on multiple items so I can select many items in a folder, non-contiguous, to delete, to copy, or whatever???

And in this Macbook Pro 17, bought January of 2009, that came with 4gb ram, how much more can I put in and use? When I am using Fusion and two VM's, things get a bit slowed down.

Thanks!!

The command key. As for RAM, see the manual that shipped with it or search Mactracker for the info.

Keep an eye on the Activity Monitor (program in the Utilities folder). It may not be memory that's slowing things down, but the processor. Throwing that much work at the mill is bound to make it suffer a bit!

Also, check that you have adequate hard drive space, which can cause slowdowns if it gets tight. Try to keep at least 10 percent free.
