Warning:SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.ap

My BRAND NEW MacBook Pro........shows this notice in utilities! What does it mean? Should I return it?

Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

10 ipods, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

What does it mean?

That the current software is installed. Just ignore that message, and unless you are having trouble, don't use the repair permissions command.

Should I return it?

No.

Hold everything! I went to my Apple store to pick up my Macbook Air which had been repaired. I told them about my problem and your solution for my MacBook Pro. They told me that "System/Library......" meant there was a defect!!
I was asked to return the computer and receive a replacement which I did. They said the warning meant that there was a conflict somewhere within the hardware that could not be repaired (they tried).

Interesting. I've seen that message on countless macs. In fact, just ran permissions repair on my MBP 13" and got this message...

Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Hmmmm. just read this Apple support document...

It clearly states that that message is harmless and should be ignored. Not sure what the so called "genius" was thinking when he replaced your MBP.
