Multiple Series Scatter Plots

Hello,

Here is what I'd like to accomplish. I currently have a scatter plot chart with a series of data, and a corresponding linear trend-line. I'd like to overlay a few data points from a different series of data that won't affect the trend line. Essentially, I've got the scatter plot as one series and would like it independent of another series of data on the same chart. I'll just need the 2nd series of data to be a different color scatter plot. How would I go about this? Do I adjust something in the series data feature in the inspector?

Thank You

Ahhhh...that's it. One additional question. My first series of data has the scatter plots hidden with solely a trend line. Then the 2nd independent series is just a single plot. When I choose to not show the data points, both series don't show the data points. How can I make the first series not show the data points, and then the 2nd series show the single plot? I am essentially plotting a result against a trendline and want to reduce the clutter. Maybe formatting it a different color. Ideas?

Thanks,
Nathan

If you select the chart and then choose a data point symbol (such as a circle or "none"), it will apply that setting to every series on the chart. If you select a specific series on the chart before selecting the symbol, it will apply the symbol to that series only.

Your two series should be independent. If they are not independent, they must be one series. If they are the same color in the chart and have the same color selection box in the table, they are one series. If so, I do not know why that happened. I know that I have been able to get a chart into a state where I couldn't get it to add another series.
