Setting Quick time as my default player

Hi

I cant seem to set the quick time player as my default movie player, its using I-Tunes at the moment

Can any one help me.

Mac OS X (10.5.8)

select a movie file in finder and enter command+i. in the resulting popup go to "open with" section and set it to open with QT player. then click "change all".

iTunes is the "default" Open With application for the .m4v file extension. QuickTime X is the default for the .mov file extension.
Other (older) file extensions like .avi would use QuickTime Player version 7.6.3.
You can change the default Open With on individual files with a simple Control click on the icon in the Finder. That "change" is only for "that" file.
