Getting rid of Ken burns effect

I am making a montage with IMovie 6. I imported lots of photos using the media pane. I now have many of the photos with the Ken Burns effect. I don't want that on most of them. Is there some way that as a group I can get rid of the Ken Burns effect, or do I have to do it manually photo by photo? I don't know why the effect was there in the first place. I don't think that I applied it when the photos were originally (sometimes a few years ago) imported into I photo library. Thanks, Dr. Steve

Hi

Ken-Burns effect is applied when photo are put into TimeLine.
(has nothing to do with iPhoto)

If You introduce a photo and then turn off Ken-Burns it will stay so for
photos that follows.

Batch changing photos in TimeLine - Don't think You can do that - at least I can't.

You can do a batch change of photos to turn off the Ken Burns effect. Select several contiguous Ken Burns photos in the time line, then click on the Show Photo Settings button, uncheck Ken Burns, adjust to whatever duration you want, and click Update. The photos should all change back to stills.

What you can do, with a batch of photos once they are "Ken Burns free" is to select them all and change the times, all in one go. I find that useful when I have put a row of 30 or 40 photos in the timeline, and I want them to stretch out, or shorten, to match the length of a piece of music.
