iPhoto script

iPhoto script

Hi,

I've written a script to allow me to apply multiple defined keywords to the selected photos in iPhoto. Now that I've got the script working, I'm wondering if it can be made available through the iPhoto menu bar. Is this possible?

Hi Andy,

It seems to me that the simplest way of having your script available via the menu bar with iPhoto is to put it into the iPhoto Scripts section of the [Script Menu|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AppleScript/2.1/en/as74.html] .

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the reply. It's probably a configuration setting somewhere but I don't have a script menu in the Finders menu bar. I've looked through all the Finder menu options and preferences and can't see anywhere I can turn Script menu on.

Just in case it was being built dynamically I created a ~/Library/Scripts folder but this had no effect.

Any suggestions?

Hi Pierre,

I found it - it's a setting on the Applescript Editor. For some reason the editor was in my Utilities folder rather than the /Applications/Applescript folder. Did Snow Leopard move it to Utilities?

Yes.

Now, to have your script listed in the iPhoto Scripts section of the Scripts Menu, just create an “Applications/iPhoto” folder in your “~/Library/Scripts” folder. To have your script available with any application, leave it at the first level of your “~/Library/Scripts” folder.
