Bluetooth will not "Turn On" (MacBook Mac OS X 10.5.8)

Yesterday, I was able to use the Bluetooth on My mac, but today, it won't even "Turn On" when checking it. If anyone could help, would be greatly appreciated.

Hello B:

Welcome to Apple discussions.

Try trashing a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restarting.

had this problem after waking my MacBook Pro from deep sleep with the monitor hooked up. I was able to fix it by killing (force quit) the bluetooth daemon a couple times.

http://developer.apple.com/Mac/library/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/m an8/blued.8.html

Start up the Activity Monitor (find it with Spotlight). Hit Command-1 to bring up the Activity Monitor window. In the blank at the top with the magnifying glass icon, type "blue". Sellect it, and hit "Quit Process" stop sign icon. Do it a couple times and the blue tooth icon will turn black again.
