Can I add Internet Explorer to my MAC?

I've got a IMAC, running MAC OS X V 10.5.8 and I currently use Safari and Firefox. However my works resume builder system will only support Internet Explorer 6 and above. Not sure if I can download that software and if so, where can I get it and is it free?

IMAC, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

In Safari Preferences > Advanced
do you have a checkbox that says
"Show Develop menu in menubar"
?
Then put it in the menubar, and go to menu
Develop > User Agent
and choose Internet Explorer,
see if it helps?

The last version of Internet Explorer for the Mac is 5.2.3 and last came with OS X 10.3. It was never made to run on a newer version of OS X than that.

Have you tried using the resume builder on either Firefox or Safari?

If the software really only supports IE, it is probably ActiveX and would then be a Windows only application anyway. On your current Mac you should be able to run Windows itself if you need to (via Boot Camp), or run it in a virtual machine environment via Parallels, VMWare, or VirtualBox.

Even if it was available for the Mac, why on earth would you want the most risky web browser there is?

France has echoed calls by the German government for web users to find an alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) to protect security.
Certa, a government agency that oversees cyber threats, warned against using all versions of the web browser.
Germany warned users on Friday after malicious code - implicated in attacks on Google - was published online.
