iphone restore error 6

need some helps with my dead iphone 3gs. I tried to restore iphone 3gs but it kept giving me error 6. It went all the way to verify iphone firmware step and the iphone shut down and give me error 6. I've done all of what necessary including downloading a fresh itune, restore with another computer, put in DFU mode but it's still giving me error 6. The iphone as of now is completely black out, no power what so ever eventhough i plug in to charge. Anybody experiences the same problems, please help!!!!!!

Try this:

On your computer, navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Delete all files that end with .ipsw.

Make sure you have a good internet connection, firewalls & ant-virus turned OFF!

Then see if you can get the phone in recovery mode:

Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
