I just wanted to let you all know how nice the new magellan iphone car kit is for the iphone. I think it is the best car mount on the market and really enhances the iphone while in the car. I had a magellan roadmate before and was very happy with the magellan roadmate app for my iphone. If you are looking at getting a cradle for your unit for your magellan app or tomtom app this new magellan cradle is great. You can go to magellangps.com to get it or autonavdirect has it also. Just remember its not just for the magellan app but enhances your iphone for many other features and apps

I am looking for a suitable iphone 3GS car holder, so I can have my iphone held in portrait and landscape positions. I see that the Magellan Car Kit is recommended here on this discussion but is it avail in the UK do you know and if so where ?

am very surprised by all the bad reviews I have seen at Amazon for example on various makes of iphone car holders, not one of them seems to have got it quite right. The biggest problem seems to be accommodating iphones that have either film protection on the screen or are enclosed in a carrying case.

My iphone only has the protective film.

Can you recommend a holder.

Also is there a way I can make my iphone 3GS into a GPS device so that I only require the one device in the car ?
