Cannot Get iPhone to turn on???

My phone is fully charged, I have followed the steps on the website and my phone is still not turning on. When I attempt to turn my phone on the apple flashes and the phone turns off. Has anyone ever had this problem? Before I have to make a trip to the apple store I figured I'd ask around??? Any ideas would be helpful.

Does it show up in itunes when you plug it in?

If so, try a restore.

Not sure if this is related, but every once in a great while, I pick up my phone to use it, and it is off for some strange reason, and it won't turn back on for anything. I plug it in to charge.....nothing. I hook it to itunes....it's not there. I tried a (both button) reset and after many attempts, it finally came back to life. As a matter of fact it happened today! The reason behind this???? I wonder if anyone knows!
