Logic 9.1 64-bit plus iZotope audio units

I have been playing around with Logic 9.1 64-bit and the only problems I've had so far is when two 32-bit Audio Units are open at the same time, this seems to crash Logic for me.

I use iZotope products Ozone 3, Ozone 4 and Alloy quite a lot and sent a support enquiry to iZotope asking when 64-bit versions would be available for Mac. They promptly sent a reply saying that all their products are already 64-bit and a download link to their latest versions.

The Ozone 3 and Alloy were the same version numbers I already had and the Ozone 4 was a later version. I installed all three, rebooted Logic expecting to seem them listed as 64-bit. Wrong! All still listed as 32-bit and still needing the Audio Bridge to function. I also re-booted the mac in 64-bit mode just in case that made a difference, it didn't. Any ideas or is the support person just incorrect? Obviously I await an answer from iZotope but just wondered in the meantime if anyone had any ideas.

As a side issue I noticed that the new version of Ozone 4 when installed showed as missing altogether in 64-bit Logic. It wasn't until I quit and re-started Logic in 32-bit that it recognised the new audio unit. Then after re-opening in 64-bit Logic the audio unit was there still. Maybe this will have to be done for any new AU's being installed?

In case anyone else is interested in this, I have just received a further email from iZotope:

'We are currently testing compatibility with the new Logic update and will be able to better answer your question in the next few days. In the meantime, you may want to switch back to 32-bit mode using the steps on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3171'

So, basically, the first support operator was miss-informed.

I will mark this as answered and await the updates.

Just to put some confidence in you 🙂 , the guys at Izotope are very responsive and know what they are doing very well. This is not a typical situation with "whatever" attitude. I am sure they will get back to you and it will be resolved soon. They are the bunch that cares, that's for sure.
I am interested in the same issue. I am looking for the fast resolution of this issue.

All the best!
