What kind of iMac? There are at least four "families" of iMacs with difference processors and capabilities.

You've posted in the forum for the oldest iMacs which are no longer supported by Quickbooks. From the Intuit site, QB 2010 for Mac has the following system requirements:

Mac computer with an Intel processor
Mac OS X v10.5.7, 10.6, or later
512 MB RAM
CD-ROM drive for installation
160 MB of available disk space

It's possible that the 2010 version hasn't released yet but, armed with that web link, you may want to call them back. They may mean they are out of the last version and not yet shipping the current one. I know the 2010 version of Quicken isn;t spposed to ship until Feb

The specs for your iMac nicely meet the sysreqs posted for the 2010 version. You could check with some stores to see if they still have the older version on the shelf

Hope my experience saves you some of the trouble I had:
My PC failed recently, so I installed QB for Mac 2010 on my Mac. The box has the same spec's listed above, but I have OS X 10.5.8 and cannot upgrade to OS X 10.6 without purchasing the new os. I did install QB for Mac, but it wouldn't convert my backed up files.... until today when I went to the Intuit website and found an update for QB 2010. It does not specify that it will run on OS X 10.5.8, but it does!
