Problems uninstalling Sierra Wireless USB Lightening Connect

Hi--

Could use some help. Tried out a Sierra Wireless Card from AT&T. It didn't worked as I hoped so I returned it and uninstalled the software following the procedure indicated on the Sierra Wireless website.

Now my computer is running really slow. I went into message console and there's this routine that's running every 10 seconds. It looks like this:

1/21/10 8:14:34 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.sierrawireless.SierraSWoCMon[820]) posix_spawn("/System/Library/Extensions/SierraDevSupport.kext/Contents/Resource s/SierraSWoCMon", ...): No such file or directory

1/21/10 8:14:34 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.sierrawireless.SierraSWoCMon[820]) Exited with exit code: 1

1/21/10 8:14:34 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.sierrawireless.SierraSWoCMon) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds

I assume there's some other piece of the uninstall that needs to be done...??? I have looked and there is no "sierra" folder on my Mac, and I deleted the modem from Network (within System Preferences).

Would appreciate any help possible! Thanks much.

Then, you need to find the LaunchDaemon or LaunchAgent that's triggering the call to that missing file. BTW, CMD+F and clikc on Kind, select Other from the dropdown menu, and from the window of things you can search on, add System files to the criteria listing. Click on Kind again and select System files and select included. The 14 items list in the Spotlight prefPane are for suppressing results in those categories, not including them beyond the default set. See http://www.pinkmutant.com/articles/Leopard/leospot.html and http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/stopspotlightindex.html for details on Spotlight.

Thanks for that info, very much appreciated.

I've only had my MacBook for about a year, so if I could hit you with one additional question I would appreciate it.

On my PC at work I'd open up "task manager" and check the applications and processes tabs to see what might be causing this. Not sure where to check this on my Mac. I opened the Force Quit window, but didn't see anything running other than Firefox and Finder. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks again.
