How to disconnect magic mouse and wireless keyboard on a new imac, HELP!

Hi-

At the top of your menubar, do you have a Bluetooth logo? It looks like a stylized "B" character, and probably has a string of 3 dots going through it.

If so, hold down the Option key on your keyboard, and click on that logo. A menu list will pop up. Scroll down to the entries for your keyboard (should be in bold print), and choose Disconnect.

Repeat this process for your mouse, and there you go.

Offhand, I suppose you could delete an entry in the bluetooth page of the settings to make your computer completely forget about them.

Wouldn't you need them though? Or was your arrangement that your friend would get you the iMac but you had to hand over the mouse and keyboard?
