Does Apple replace top case at its stores?

Do Apple geniuses replace the aluminum top casing (with the white Apple logo) at its stores? Have a 1.86 MacBook Air SSD, have couple minor scratches on the top case, and want an Apple store to replace it for me.

The part you are referring to is the rear view housing, Apple cannot replace specifically that part though because it is part of the clamshell. Since the scratches are considered wear and tear on the unit and the responsibility of the owner they would not be covered under any warranty (Applecare of original).

Unfortunately this part is very expensive as it includes the display and a replacement cost me (including labour) £425 although I believe if you are in the US and willing to wait a little longer they can do a depot repair for approx. $250.

Personally, I'd just live with the scratches. When I got mine replaced it was because I had bent the display and it scratched against the top and bottom case whenever I opened it. Not something I could live with. But a few scratches whilst a little unsightly are not affecting your ability to use the machine and are not damaging it further.

See them as the personalization of your MBA 😉 I dropped my external (3.5" -> heavy) on the closed MBA once and have two small dents... I will always remember that day 😉

While it possibly lowers the resale value, but I also sold my driven over PowerBook for a good price (for both sides). And that not only had scratches but real dents... since I used a station wagon to drive over it (incidentally, not the Station wagon, but driving over it).

Hi.I have a macbook air. It felt down on its corner and has damaged. The upper-left corner is chamfered like 0.5 cm on both lower and upper cases so it has problem when oppening and closing and gets worst each time. I would like to know what can I do to repair its body since there is not any software problem with it. Does apple fix it and if yes, how much does it cost?
Thank you.
