App not available in U.S. store

How weird is this message: The item you have requested is not currently available in the US store.

I tried to access an app "Index of Creationist Claims" referred by this link:

http://bcseweb.org.uk/blog/2010/01/15/theres-an-app-for-that/

which was developed in the UK and a very useful tool. The attempt to access this was handled properly by itunes on my iMac but the store punted and wouldn't provide it. I know Apple's app approval process was cranky, but I didn't know it was political.

I'm not sure why you would think it is necessarily political. It's far more probable that the rights holders have not chosen to offer it for sale in the U.S.. There are many things that are not available for sale in one country but are in another. International copyright law is, in my opinion, a disaster.

You might want to contact the app developer and inquire about their plans to distribute in the U.S.

Best of luck.

It's "not available" in the UK store too. Curiously iTunes tried to redirct me to the US store, from which I can't buy anything not being based in the US or having credit there. I can't find it with search either. I don't know how the app submission process works, but perhaps they've built the blog post from development shots in advance of being notified that it has been accepted.

Now where's that Pastafarian Bible App?
