Spotlight Window Keyboard Shortcut not working

Okay. The keyboard shortcut for opening the spotlight window is Option-Command-Space. It was working fine for me until two days ago. I have tried using other shortcuts and so on but it's just not working. Any help would be appreciated.

is this shortcut listed and activated in system preferences->keyboard->keyboard shortcuts->spotlight?

HI,

Open System Preferences/Keyboard and select Keyboard Shortcuts

Click Spotlight on the left. Make sure the shortcuts are correct. If not, click: Restore Defaults.

I have tried both these solutions to no avail. Thank you for the speedy responses. Any other ideas?

so, is the correct shortcut listed there in system preferences? is there an exclamation mark next to it? that would indicate a shortcut conflict with something else. if not delete the file home directory/library/preferences/byhost/com.apple.HIToolbox... and log out/in. then try using the shortcut again.

You are awesome. Thank you. I had to delete the file you said and it worked. It still works after changing the shortcut too. Again, thank you.
