CineForm HD codec vs Apple Pro Res

I have heard great revies about neoscene, to remove 24p pulldown for footage shot on my canon hf10.

I have used it, and it says to use the CineFORM HD/2K/4K compressor settings when compressing the footage for pulldown removal.

final cut pro also lets me choose the codec Cineform Hd/2k/4k. My question is, which is a better codec, as I heard neoscene is an industry standard program. thanks

Why? Are you going to be projecting on a big screen? Doing a film out? Or will you being going to DVD? To the web? Since you will only see the difference on a very big screen, or on a very high end professional monitor (neither of which I think you will be viewing this on), I don't think you need to concern yourself with this.

To tell you the truth, I have played with the Cineform codec and compared it with ProRes on the equipment and monitors I had at my disposal. They look identical. I looked at them on scopes, and I can see slight differences. Cineform is better. But again, REALLY only meant for high HIGH end stuff.

Given your track record of questions and knowledge, this is really something you shouldn't be concerning yourself with. BUT, if you need to know, Cineform is better. But you really need to concern yourself with grasping the basics of video editing and leave the advanced stuff for later.
