I am in the UK and want to buy something only available in itunes Canada. The system will not let me do this. Is there a way round this problem?

    My suggestion to Apple would be to change the first statement to match the second one to eliminate ambiguity.

    Each country has it's own specific iTunes Terms of Service.
    see here -> http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/ww/

    Thanks for the legal link, Chris. I notice that the US and some other countries have the terms of sale more specifically stated, whereas Canada, Australia, UK and others use the "in countryname" phrase which is somewhat ambiguous.

    Getting all that legal stuff cleaned up isn't a windmill that this old guy is interested in tackling. In my younger days, I'd welcome the challenge, but I have more fun things to do in my retirement. As the saying goes, "Life is too short to drink cheap wine."

    Cheers!

    Im a little confused. I can understand (sort of) the potential issues regarding access to Canadian iTunes site (to make a purchase) from outside Canada (sort of the obverse of the situation where in Canada we often cannot access content on foreign sites like BBC).

    What I'm not clear on is use of content previously purchased in Canada when out side Canada. Some of the TOS language I have seen on my iPhone suggests that purchased Apps etc cannot be used outside Canada. Is that really right? If so Apple would seem to be cutting themselves off from a significant market - anyone who travels quite a lot would find the phone useless.
