Black MacBook Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working

Here is the deal, I have a black macbook 3,1 running SL 10.6.2. My keyboard and trackpad are not working, the power button does. It's the only thing that does.
I've tried resetting my PRAM, PMC, SM(S?) etc, the "ribbon" trick in the battery compartment but nothing works! I am not paying Apple to "rip-me" off, since I already spent $900 when the screen decided it didn't feel like working anymore a few months ago. I will of course spend money to fix it, I'd just prefer not too...
