Groove Agent 3, is anyone able to record MIDI data with it?

Basically my title says it all. Is anyone about to record the MIDI data from Steinberg's Groove Agent 3 on Logic Express 8? It plays fine as an AU instrument, but when I click the button to record the MIDI data, it does not leave the data.

I don't believe this works in Audio Units . The Keyboard Magazine Review for V1 stated that this function didn't work in Logic then ether . I believe the only way to do this is to use the Vst version , but that would mean no Logic .
You may try it in stand alone mode using Rewire to inject it in to logic ... ReWire sends Midi and Audio so it's a good bet it will work this way.

budsthe4,

Your best bet is to go to "EDIT>SETUP" in the GA3 panel and select "Record to File." This will allow you to record your live keyboard playing with MIDI data appearing on your track as you play. You can do the same with "Live to Host."

OR you can play the patterns & fills from within the GA3 panel. The important trick here is to go back and turn off the MIDI output in GA3 after you've finished recording. As soon as you do that a .MID file will appear on your desktop which you then import back into Logic. If you DON'T turn MIDI output off you will get nothing. Turning it off tells GA3 that you have finished recording and want a file created. Convoluted, but it works.

Hope this helps.
