Just replace the Microsoft Sync with a non-Microsoft Bluetooth interface (sold at car audio shops), then your problems will be over.
This isnt a solution when you paid $200+ for something that is suppose to work with iPhones and iPods and Ford/Microsoft simply act like they don't want to support us.
Have you done exactly what the Sync user guide said to pair? My wife and I both have iPhone 3GS and I paired both to the Sync system and the Apple Headset. The process to pair Sync is a bit more involved. You have to pair them by following the instructions on the radio. I just followed the Sync manual for pairing and it worked great.
