The Home Button on my first generation iPod Touch has just become stuck. It doesn't click. I'm afraid I'm out of warranty and I'm wondering what I should do. Should I bring it to an Apple Store and what would they do to help? Please help.
This is a rare problem, but some have fixed it, somehow - but no guarantees here.
1. Press the Home button (near the bottom, middle) and the Power button (top, left) repeatedly at the same time until your home screen appears. Continued repetition is necessary to make this work.
2. With the end of an pencil eraser, press the Home button with strong pressure, then press the sleep button until you do a hard reset. Later, if this works, press the Home button long and hard before releasing - this should make the Touch respond properly.
#2 Technically works, but the button is still not how it should be. Only when I apply strong force to it does it register. Any idea of how I could lift up the button?
