FCP dissapears?

I've been having an issue with my FCP program that just began today. Whenever I hide FCP so I can get to the desktop or another program I can't get the program back without doing a force quit and restarting it.

What may cause this?

Mac Pro with 2 Quad-Core Dual Intel Xeon, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 2.93 GHz 8 GB

This is a known issue and has been discussed here many times.
So far no one has a solution other than not using the hide command.
Users of Mac OS X 10.5 and higher can make use of the Spaces application instead.
