mac pro does not start

mac pro does not start

when I press the Start button my mac pro does not start, the power cord is connected, only hear the sound that makes the power supply to ignite, but after a few seconds, the power supply shuts down, no start chime or image in the screen could be seen.

mac mini intel, xserve g5, mac pro intel xeon, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Try a SMC reset.

Solved, the problem was the temperature sensor, if I keep the room temperature low, the problem does not occur

Boost the fans then, and use SMCFANCONTROL and have a couple profiles, for high rpm, standard, etc.

And keep the backend away from walls or confined areas.

i've been having this problem too with my early 2008 mac pro. i'm already running smcfancontrol but it doesn't help. once my mac is powered down, i have to wait 15-30 mins with aircon on and fan blowing to the rear of the mac before i can start it up again. i think the temperature threshold is set too low for my country where ambient temperature ranges from 26-32 deg celcius.
