How to re-sync purchased product from ATV to Mac after HD crash

Hi,

I had to reinstall Snow Leopard after a HD crash. My itunes library wasn't backed up so I'm assuming I've lost my personal stuff, but I have a lot of purchased movies and tv shows on the ATV. How do I re-sync to my Mac without losing them?

Thanks!

You can't restore from your ATV to your iTunes library. The ATV is not a backup device, syncing means duplicating your iTunes library on your ATV hard drive, and it's a one-way process (except for the syncing of purchases made directly on the ATV, which happens only once per file).

You will have to run the sync setup again from the ATV following the hard drive replacement, and that will delete whatever is on the ATV hard drive now. Your only hope is to appeal to iTunes store support to authorize your account to download the lost files again.
