Delete all SMS from iPhone

Is there a way to remove all SMS from my iPhone?

I receive a lot of SMS every day. If I never remove them, how much will their size grow? Will message-app become slower?

iPhone 3GS, iPhone OS 3.1.2

They don't take up much space at all & should have no effect on performance.

Two ways to delete messages:

1. Click Messages, Click Edit, Click the red minus sign, Click Delete. This deletes the message string itself.

2. Click the individual Message, Click Edit, Click Clear All or individually highlight a message in the string and click delete.

Yes, I know how to delete a message or a conversation but I can't understand why there isn't an option "delete all".

20000 sms (in 1 year they aren't so much...) does not affect performance opening messages?

It is - thats 27 outgoing a day assuming half in and half out so if you are awake 12 hours a day, thats one every 20 minutes or so. You need to talk to people more often 😀
