My mail account has disappeared from my iphone

I was syncing my computer and iphone and when I disconnected my iphone my mail completely disappeared from the iphone. When I tried to set it up again it told me that an exchange account already exists so I cant set up another one but I cant see the account and am getting no mail.
Does anyone know how I can rectify this?

If you're talking about the Mail app, it cannot be deleted. It's probably on another screen - check all your screens.

If you're talking about the account within the Mail app, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

The Mail app is still there. One of my accounts simply doesn't work. The same account works fine on my desktop computer (the one IPhone is synced with) but it won't download mail on my IPhone. When I try to send a test message from IPhone to that account I get an error message and it won't receive test message sent from my desktop. The tests from my desktop come in fine to the desktop but not the IPhone.

I have reset the IPhone and tried re-configuring the Mail account. No luck.
