Audio Recording-iPhone to Computer

I am a musician and I have many apps that create music. I am wondering, what is the best way to connect my iPhone to my computer to record audio coming from these apps? I have used a 3.5mm/ 1/4 audio cord to connect to my audio interface....but there wasn't a crisp sound. Lots of white noise. any suggestions?
