Problem downloading quicktime

I am running a 32 bit windows 7. Though when I go to download quicktime it tells me during install. (C:\ProgramData\microsoft\windows\startmenu directory could not be created) Anyone know how to fix this? I've ran it as an administrator and tried using a download manager/firefox/googlechrome to download it.

It's having trouble creating one of the Start Menu icons, I think.

Attempt to open that directory. Is there a QuickTime shortcut in there? If so, if you drag it out onto the desktop and try another install, does it go through properly this time?

Sorry droid, I forgot. It's a hidden folder so we'll need to change your View options on the PC.

From the Start menu, click Open.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected and "Hide extensions for known filetypes" is unchecked.
Click OK.

Can you see the directories now?

Though there is no folder for quicktime under programdata.

That's okay. Once you're in the ProgramData folder, open the "Microsoft" folder. Open the "Windows" folder. Open the "StartMenu" folder.

I think we've got an issue with folder permissions on the hierarchy of folders above the QuickTime shortcut.

Right-click on that StartMenu folder and select "Properties". Click the security tab. Select your user account's name in the list of users or groups in that tab.

What permissions do you have on that folder?

Now click the advanced button in that tab. Go to the Owner Tab. Who or what is listed as the owner for that folder?

oh, I thought the actual start menu, nvm lol. I went to the directory we originally talked about and right clicked the start menu and the security tab was there. The only user is myself Dominic(Dominic-PC\Dominic) and I have all the tabs checked under allow. I went to advanced and the only user is myself. Though there is an administrator under my name and than just a regular Dominic(Dominic-PC\Dominic) the administrator is listed under the edit section of advanced and it says administrators(Dominic-PC\administrators) Is that what you were wanting me to look for?
