1and1 email not sending

I am having problems with my 1and1 email - although I am receiving email on my iphone I cannot send it out. When I do, I get an error message saying "Cannot Send Mail" The server rejected on of the recipient's addresses. The message has been placed in your Outbox"
I have tried sending to different addresses but always the same. I have spoken to 1and1 and they say the settings are ok. There is wifi connection when I try to send. Can anyone PLEASE help me before my head explodes!

My guess your problem is with the SMTP server your phone is trying to use. If you can successfully send & receive mail over the cellular network, that would confirm where your problem lies. Many providers block mail over wifi in an effort to stop spammers. Try the troubleshooting steps in this article:

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I have now tried all the suggestions and still getting the same message. I'm going to speak to Vodafone tomorrow to see if there is some sort of block on outgoing email. If you think of anything else I can try please let me know, but thanks in the meantime.

Post your settings here (minus your password) - I have a client 1and1 IMAP account on my iPhone and I can compare settings.

I am having the same issue. My e-mail provider is roadrunner. All my settings are correct and I have tried all the suggestions here and in the iphone trouble shooting instruction. Help!!

Just to update you on this. My contact at Vodafone told me that although 1and1 claim to support iphone they don't. Emails can be received but not sent. I have got round it by using my gmail account, and diverting all 1and1 mail via that address. I set this up a couple of weeks ago now and it has worked brilliantly ever since.

Hi!
Thats not true!
I am working with 1&1 here and all of us use their mail accounts with the iPhone. POP or IMAP is working fine.
Just go to settings for the SMTP and put as user name your mail address and your password. They need to have the auth. with user and password.
