Custom Avatar

Under the old system, Level 3 and higher could have a custom avatar. Don't know about this system - for some reason, my old custom avatar is no longer part of my profile - found this post searching for why that is 🙂

David, I read that custom avatars are not available for anyone!

But they will perhaps be added back at some point.

Who has a custom avatar? I've only seen the standard ones.

We all received the announcment about the changes to the system & the avatars.
we were warned we better like them. At level three & over 600 posts not the 200 showing here, I had earned my own avatar & after much ado to get the right size it is gone,though told we can keep them. I am just amazed that things are not as implied. Confusing, disappointing & lacking incentive to help or be helped.Progress,yuk

If it makes you feel better, at the time of the last discussion board change, at 1900 odd posts, I was only about 100 posts away from earning level 4; the new system required 4000 posts for the same status. 😟

Your points/posts may be just doubled. This is what happened to all other users. At the moment the display of reputations has just disabled.

You still have the same number of posts. If you look at your profile you'll see your total posts and that the number of points have doubled for some reason. Right now in the shakedown period only the posts still online are displayed. I understand that custom avatars are still being considered for Level 3s and higher. There are a lot of debugging that's going on. Like today the level status display has been suspended due to some maintenance or whatever.

as an interim solution you may wish to include your custom avator in your post like this:

Thanks 🙂 today is my first foray into this new system, so I'm still learning, too 🙂

Last time the system changed, it was just a little disppointing that the level 4 threshold had changed from 2000 to 4000, putting me 2100 posts away instead of 100.

In a sense, I see points and levels more as a feather in the cap, so to speak, as my primary purpose for being here is to (try to) help others, and occasionally receive some help, not to engage in a points 'battle'

i wish they added the 3 beige G3's to the avatar list as in the DT, MT, AIO but oh well
