Skype & Snow Leopard

Hi.

I've a late 2009 MacBook Pro (late 2009) 2.53.
I use Skype very often and from a few days ago I can't hear any Notifications. No incoming calls, no New Messages received, no Contacts Becomes Online. Nothing!

I've checked Preferences. I've choosed "Play Sound" options for every Notification, and I can actually hear them when I'm choosing different kinds of ringtones and warnings signs available.

But then it doesn't make no sound at all!

I've uninstalled and reainstalled Skype, and the problem remains!

A few days agora I noticed Sound Notifications work normally if my AirPort is turned OFF.

Thank You for your Help

MacBook Pro, iPod Touch 8Gb, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

has anyone actually skyped you since? that could be a problem
if you can't figure out the problem, you could try Growl. it's an application-helper and you can set it to display a notification and sound when a contact comes online or when a call is received. that's what i use. it seems to work so far for Snow Leopard (i've had SL for about a week and it seems to work so far)
hope that helps!

did the computer come pre-installed with snow leopard, or did you upgrade it from leopard?
if it was leopard first, did you do a clean install or the upgrade without wiping the data?
i just did a clean install of the snow leopard and skype seems to be working fine so far.
it is possible that you have an outdated version of skype. if nothing works, try getting the latest version and reinstalling.
hope that helps!

Hey ( thanks for trying to help me)

-I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard, by y cleaned the disk first.
-Skype worked just fine, and suddenly it went mute!!!! thats the intriguing thing. All of a Sudden stopped playing sounds!
-If I go to skype preferences I can hear the sounds, as I choose which ring tone and warning signs I want to be played at any given time. But after choosing a ring tone it doesn't perform that action.
-I've reinstalled Skype also.
-Apart from that, as I told you before, it "makes noise" if I shut the AirPort Off.

sorry about this... i'm really trying to help. i've never come across this problem before.
have you tried the application Growl? it's an application helper that has a plug-in for Skype and you can set for a visual display and sound bit when a contact becomes available or when you receive a call.
that's what i use and it seems to work well.
here's the link: http://growl.info/
give that a try, if you don't like it or need help with it, just write back.

Hi...

I've tried to use Growl, but it doesn't seem to work that well with skype. I don't know if I'm the problem or the software is.

Anyway, I think the problem may be related not with SnowLeopard but with my Skype account.

I've logged in my computer and in other computers ( running SnowLeopard) and I can't still hear notifications, but if I sign with a different account either in other laptop or my own I can hear all the notifications.

It's really strange, but it looks like the "muteless" it's related to my account!!!
