Quicktimeplayer.exe - Unable to locate Component

This morning I "updated" my quick time pro v. 7 software as the previouse beta version had expired. Since doing this I receive the following error message every time I attempt to open the player.

1744:QuickTimePlayer.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because vafxu.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have reinstalled the program several times and even went so far as to uninstall everything and make sure the registry was cleaned as well. Even then after re-installing the product I get the same error message.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a known fix.

Thanks,

I recall seeing this posted here before and do not know what vafxu.dll is even after a internet search and a search through microsoft. I did a search of this computer and it did not show up. However it did show in the registry, only one entry. I deleted it from the registry and it had no effect on QT.
So you may want to try deleting vafxu.dll. My guess is that it may have something to do with another application or spyware related.

This sounds like a good idea but I'm not sure where in the registry to find the reference. Do you remember where it was?
