Profire 610 & Logic Pro interface connection problems

Hi All

I have an M-Audio profire 610 and I am trying to connect it to logic pro 7. I have downloaded the driver off the m-audio site for a PPC running Mac OSX 10.4.11 and it is still not working.

It looks as if the interface is receiving signal but not sending it to the computer.

The profire is showing up in the Audio and Midi Configuration utility.

Any help would be awesome

Did you configure Logic's audio preferences so the M-Audio interface is selected?

Yes,

I selected it as the audio interface in audio preferences if that's what you meant.

OK.

a) Can you play music from iTunes through it? (just to make sure the Profire is working)

b) Can you play music from Logic through it (demo song for example, to make sure Logic is recognizing the interface)

I have not tried playing music through iTunes But I did try in Logic and it didn't play. I can try through logic in an hour or so. I just stepped away.

Okay,

I tried it through iTunes as well and it didn't work. iTunes acted like it didn't even want to start playing like I pressed play and it it stayed on 0:00

Ok, so now we know the problem's not within Logic. I'd start by uninstalling the drivers, reboot the computer, re-install the drivers and reboot the ccomputer again. Also, make sure you download the latest drivers from M-Audio website

Tried another Firewire cable? Tried the Profire with another computer? Also, make sure in AudioMidi Setup the clock source for the Profire is not set to computer. Another thing you may to try is to zap the PRAM. Re-start te computer while holding Command-Option-P-R and wait until you heard the starting chime three times before releasing the keys.

Open AudioMidi Setup and select your interface. There's a drop-down menu with Clock source before, at the top of the right panel
