Recording Problems

Anyone else having any problems recording with garage band? When I hit the record but the whole program lags and doesn't start recording until 20 seconds later. This all happens when I tried to record some mixing.

I'm not sure I understand your question. But I'm just saving the projects through garage band and on the desktop. And when its complete I usually send it through Itunes when I'm done editing.

if you're storing projects on your internal HD, then we'll need a lot more information about your set up

I am storing it in my internal. But even if nothing is connected to the laptop and I just turn on garage band, it still lags right after I press record.

If you are looking at the visual image of your recording track and nothing is happening and your sure you have taken all steps to record, I would recommend taking on faith that it's recording. Try zooming out. I have watched that straight line and panicked ,then see the image develope from far left and stop again. Processin' all that info takes awhile. I know I'm inpatiant. I have had to reimport recordings. Because I pulled the plug thinking that something must be wrong . Goodluck

I've done that. I have done previous records like this before. It just stalls about 20 seconds before it finally starts recording and the recording line has already moved from the previous point which I started it at. When I hit record the colorful loading icon appears.
