how to enable single window mode?

*how to enable single window mode in the latest version of Safari?*

browser opens up some links in new windows and it is very inconvenient

I don't have a fix, but there's sort of a workaround. If you get multiple windows forming, bring up your Menu Bar and go "Window > Merge all Windows". That will gather all the different windows together into tabs in a single window.

If you hold down the Ctrl key and click on a link, it should open as a tab within a single window too.

To check that youve got that enabled, go Edit > Preferences and click on "Tabs". There's a check box in there for that preference.

(Granted, this isn't quite the same thing as having links open new pages in a new tab rather than a window by default.)

All that you describe is the standard setting them I have long found, but they do not bring any results. What is interesting - parameter "TargetedClicksCreateTabs" in a state of "true" which is processed in the Mac version, broken in the Windows-based version if it is to register the file C: \ Program Files \ Safari \ Safari.resources \ Defaults.plist a file stored in the folder C: \ Documents and Settings \ Admin \ Application Data \ Apple Computer \ Preferences \ com.apple.Safari.plist scrambled to change it theoretically impossible, but if you replace it with THIS file, then it can be set, but the parameter "TargetedClicksCreateTabs" still not working

You may have better luck getting information on this through one of the mailing lists associated with the Safari Dev center. (Their resources are focussed on web development and webkit, but presumably some of the Safari programmers might also lurk there.)
