Trying to burn master to HHB gold CDR but its not happening - any advice?

Decided to use some decent CDRs- HHB gold for the master and the silver for the playable test CD. Burned same project to both types, silver works fine. Putting the gold in the drive results in a fair bit of clanking before it starts burning, no confirmation at the end and the computer/ iTunes does not see the CD, none of my other playback systems recognise it either - anyone help

Can only hazard a guess that your particular drive is not compatible with the reflective surface used. It's the HHB Gold 74min, not the 80, right?

Often drive manufacturers release firmware upgrades that provide increased compatibility, problem is the flashing software is usually PC.

Might want to check your drive's manufacturer and see if there are any firmware updates available.
