Energy Saver Options Tab missing from System Preferences Pance
Recently I upgraded with Combo Update Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on my Mac Pro and now I find that I have no Options Tab in the Energy Saver Pane of System Preferences. All the options that used to be available there cannot now be accessed. Sleep\Wake is functioning fine, and I can't remember what settings I had or even used. It has not been critical for me so I rarely check these options. It is possible that the tab disappeared when I applied the latest Security Update a few days ago - I'm not sure. Since the big weekend storm here I want to use the automatic restart after power failure feature that I think lived behind that tab. Thanks for any help.
I should say that I rarely, if ever, use the lower missing options mentioned above. If I am accessing the Mac Pro from my other local computers I just wake up the Mac Pro. And I can't ever remember wanting my computer to restart after a power failure. If we have a power failure in this area, it is likely to come back on and then just as suddenly go off again. Not a good thing, I would imagine, for delicate electronics. Usually I wait 30 minutes to an hour after the power resumes in my home before powering up any electronic equipment.
I have those four plus Automatically reduce brightness before display goes to sleep. Must be an Intel iMac thingy. As for why you're missing some, I suspect it's because your using your PB.
Actually, no. My PB G4 (10.5.8) and the iMac G5 (10.5.8) have at least five options, including "reduce brightness" because they have built-in displays. The PB varies a bit, including a sixth option, "show battery level in menu bar" and also changes between battery and power adapter settings. The Mac Pro has no built-in display, ergo no brightness control. But it did have the others running Leopard.
