How to stop a burn?

Hi,

Basic question but we tried to burn some photos onto a CD for a friend who was visiting and not only managed to fail at that, but now we can't shut down iPhoto as it says we need to stop the burn before we can do so. Can't see any burn dialog box which it refers us to and can't see any other way of cancelling the burn - all tips gratefully received!
