Keyboard won't type uppercase 'o' and 'p'???

This is the weirdest issue I've ever seen on a Mac, and I didn't really know where to post this. I have a wired keyboard (at work) that cannot make an uppercase 'o' or 'p' by holding 'shift'. Every other key works fine uppercase holding 'shift' but when I hold shift and press 'o' or 'p' nothing happens, doesn't write lower case, just writes nothing. I recently reinstalled the os since I was upgrading the HD, thought maybe it was a driver issue, there's no way since I did a clean reinstall of the os, a shiny penny to the one who can come up to a solution to this issue 🙂

Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Which model Mac do you have?

If you have a can of compressed air in the office, suggest that you use it. Your keyboard may be dirty-crumbs, dust balls, etc trapped under the keys. Especially so, if you eat while using the computer.

If you need to pop the keys off to clean, check out the following link: iFixit

Search YouTube for _Your model Mac_ “How To Clean Keyboard” tutorials.

thats the obvious answer, but the keys work perfectly fine normally, its the combination of pressing both shift and 'o' or 'p' at the same time that makes them not work. I mean, as I type this I don't have strain the 'o' or 'p' they just work like all the other keys, the only way for me to get an uppercase 'o' or 'p' is to press caps lock first then press, then turn off caps lock, very annoying.

It's a G5 tower 2X2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon

I meant to mention this in the first post, sorry...

Are you using an Apple or 3rd party keyboard?

If you are experiencing a hardware problem w/an Apple keyboard you should contact AppleCare if you have it, or take the keyboard to your local Apple Store or AASP. Otherwise, check out the info I provided in my previous post for self diagnoses & repair and/or wait for other troubleshooting solutions from the knowledgeable users here.

3rd party keyboard, contact the manufacturer.
