smart playlist missing on iphone

I updated my firmware last night to 3.1.3
The latest and greatest.
BUMMER!
since then my smart playlist (which contanins 20GB out of 100GB of music) disappeared from my iphone.
The music is there on the iphone (this, according to what I see in itunes and on "on the go" playlist. other playlists are ok.
I have tried several things:
1. deleted and recreated the playlist.
2. reduced the criteria to one criteria.
NONE of the above worked.
How can I make my iphone show that playelist?
Help will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

You can try the following while waiting for a correct software update :

create a new smart playlist with a criteria : playlist is 'your other list'
and sync it to your iPhone, this worked for me (my problem might be different though : my playlist appeared on the phone, but it was empty)

STRANGE!!!
As you recommended, I created another (call it abc) playlist with same criteria as the original 20GB playlist, but limited the size to 2GB so I can see if it appears on my iphone.
Surprise.
IT DID NOT. BUT THE ORIGINAL PLAYLIST IS ON THE IPHONE.

So? I figured I'd remove abc. Which I did, and both playelists were gone from the iphone once again.

So as a bewildered customer, I went back and re-checked the abc smart playlist and synced.
abc is not on my iphone but the original playlist does appear.
As if abc playlist takes the bug off of the original playlist:)

Is this a solution? At best its a crude workaround.

After upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.3, any SmartPlaylist that uses the "Genre" field for selecting shows up on my iPhone with empty lists. The List name shows (sometimes" but no content is included). When I check the lists on the phone (by looking through iTunes), the view shows that the list and contents are on the phone. However, when physically checking the phone, the list name is there but no songs are in it.

THIS IS A CRAPPY UPDATE; IT FIXIES THE SMART PLAYLIST SORTING PROBLEM BUT NOW BREAKS THE ABILITY TO SELECT SONGS IN A SMARTPLAYLIST USING THE "GENRE" FIELD!!!
