LG Flatron is stuck on power saving mode

Hi can someoe help me pls?
My Flatron L1515S monitor stays stuck on power saving mode when i turn my mac mini on. It doesn't display anything apart from power saving mode and then the monitor light turns to amber.

I have unpluged everything and turned it back on and the mac mini light and fan come on but it still does the same thing.
The monitor has been working perfectly fine until now.
Any suggestions?

Hi-

Please clarify. When you power up the mini, do you hear the startup chime? Does it appear that the mini is fine, but that it is just the monitor that has issues?

How are you connected to the monitor? What adaptor are you using? Mini DVI to VGA adaptor?

Have you verified that the adaptor and cables are firmly connected? What happens if you remove the mini dvi adaptor (with the power for the mini and monitor on) and then plug it back in?

Hi,

When i power up the mini i do hear the startup chime,
It does appear the mini is fine and it is just the monitor that has issues,
I'm using the mini DVI to VGA adaptor
and all cables are firmly connected.

I did as you suggested and when i removed the adapter, nothing different happened, it still is doing the same thing.

Does the monitor have a menu that you can access that lets you select what input to use? Perhaps it is looking for video on a different input than the one selected on the monitor itself.

i've just realized that when i turn on the mini, the mouse dosen't come on neither - the mouse is connected to the keyboard.
I tried connecting it directly to the mini and the mouse still doesn't come on.
Could there be something wrong with the mini and if so what should i do?

no it doesn't work when i unplugged the mouse. I still hear the startup chime, but its still doing the same thing.
