Removing Date/Time Stamps from video

Hi all

I'm new to this forum, so be nice.

My Dad has asked me to edit some family holiday footage from over 10 years ago - unfortunately at the time of recording my Dad thought it would be a good idea to put on the Date and Time stamp (that appears in white at the bottom right of the screen).

Is there any possible way of removing this? Because I can't figure it out and its annoying the **** out of me. Is it something I can do in FCP or will I need to use Motion (I have just upgraded to Final Cut Studio)

Please help me...

There isn't.

BUT -- try adding a widescreen matte to it to make it look Professional... ehem... "Professional." This will cover most of it up.

Then use your motion tab and slide the offending clips down a few pixels to get it all the way out.

You won't miss what you cut off. If you do, just readjust the slide of the image back to get better framing.

Good luck, and welcome to the new and improved boards!!

I'd try this... won't take long and if you don't like it you just rip it off.

Make your cut normal... just pretend you're going to live with it.

Then

Open a new sequence

Drag the old sequence in

Add a 1.72 or so Widescreen matte

click on the video track

hit ENTER on the keypad (number keypad) to send the video to the viewer

Turn on the Image + Wireframe in the canvas

Use your mouse to drag the image down (won't affect the matte)

Keep going until the d/t stamp is gone.

If you don't like it just go back to your first sequence.

Good luck
