Ever since the update to 3.1.3, my battery life is about half. Last two days have had to charge halfway through the day.

Anyone else see issues with battery life, since update?

Macbook, iMac, iPhone 3G, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 4BG, 500GB

I have the same issue since I upgraded my iphone to 3.1.3.

I also have a problem with the wifi signal. It is not able to find anyone.

Any idea to back to 3.1.2?

I haven't updated yet but IIRC the updated says it improves battery level accuracy. Maybe you need to let the iPhone measure your battery charge again. To do this completly drain the battery till the phone shuts itself down. Then do a full charge. Then use the phone till it's completly drained again & do another full charge. Hopefully this will reset the battery charge measurements.

I am also having problems with battery life since upgrading my iPhone 3G from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3. I had no problem going a whole day with quite heavy usage on one charge before, however since updating the firmware it only lasts about 5 hours with NO use. My battery fully discharged last night and was fully charged this morning, but don't want to have to spend my evenings without a phone so need to charge it mid-day... not happy at all!

I am having the same problem since I updated to 3.1.3. Battery is discharging very quick. I did not have this problem with 3.1.2.

It's natural to assume that the problem is 3.1.3, but there are so few problem reports with this release (compared to other releases) that any problems are almost certainly with your phone rather than being a general problem of the release. Try the usual troubleshooting steps and at least one of them will likely fix the problem. These include recalibrating the battery gauge; rebooting; turning off any push accounts, rebooting, then turning them back on; closing Safari windows; reset network settings; Restore again; restore as a new phone.

To recalibrate the battery gauge run the battery down until the phone shuts off, then charge fully, for 4 hours if possible.

mine does this too! i did what NeilDeWheel said and it still has terrible battery.. my only solution is to have it plugged in all day.. and even then ater i unplug it it still hasn't charged all the way.

You have restored as a new phone, and not installed any apps, and you still have terrible battery life? If so you have a hardware problem.

3.01 Firmware was the answer for me. My battery will last 4-5 days, with lots of use.

So now I don't suppose to install any apps?

Updated last night. It took only 10-15 minutes. No issues so far.

You don't want to install any apps initially as a diagnostic tool. If it still has a battery problem with no apps installed there's something seriously wrong with your phone (not 3.1.3). If you don't have a problem then you know that it is an app or corrupted settings. Once you have done the test without apps you can add them back and see which one (if any) is causing the problem.
