MP4 movie work in Itunes, but will not sync onto 160G Ipod.

All of my other movies, which were all converted in MP4 format, uploaded onto my 160G Ipod just fine.

But this new movie, which I downloaded as an MP4 (I could not find a avi format version to convert) is completely ignored when syncing my Ipod. The box that needs the check-mark has the check, and the move plays just fine.
My Itunes is up to date.

Any idea's? I really want this movie on my Ipod. 😟

Hello Valden,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!

Have you tried using iTunes built in converter to try and reconvert the movie into a more iPod friendly format? To do this, locate the video in iTunes, highlight it, and then choose "Create iPod or iPhone version" from the Advanced drop down menu. Then try re-syncing the newly converted movie to your iPod and see if that helps.

Hi I have a Iphone 3GS 32 with 3.1.3 installed and discovered the same problem with 3.1.3. The audio sounds good and my screen is displaying a stil with a green bar right below.

On 3.1.2 everithing was all right. I have tried to downgrade to 3.1.2 but that is restricted.

I have checked the playing of the same files on my old 3G 16 with 3.1.2 and there the file is playing well.

I also discovered with playing h264 files that the stop after ca 40 seconds for 1 minute and then go on. The movie time us running from 0:40 - 1:48 but audio and video stops. After the 1:48 the movie is continuing well????

Hopefully Aplle fixes this verry soon!!

THX in advance,

Wim

No error message. It's simply completely ignored.

As for how my Ipod is set up to sync movies, I originally had it so I'd have to put a check-mark beside the little box (that's beside every video) for every video I wanted to put on my Ipod.

That didn't work, so I then tried check-marking the "automatically include" and the drop down bar was set on to "all" (which is at the top of the movies section when the Ipod is connected)

Didn't work either.

Hi! Valden, this question is for you: I have a couple of avi movie files I'm trying to convert into MP4 files so Itunes will recognize them. How did you convert your files?

Also, B-Rock, maybe you can help me with this second question. I transferred some mpg movie files into itunes (and itunes accepted them fine) but when I try to use the built in converter in itunes to convert them to an ipod version, the option to convert isn't even an option. The movies (cartoons actually) play fine in itunes. I just don't see the option to convert to ipod versions.

i also have the same problem. i downloaded mp4 videos but itunes won't sync them to my ipod touch for no reason. i tried converting them to an ipod version and the converted videos were synced but the problem now is that when i play the videos on my ipod, i just get a white screen and the audio playing.

Well, I couldn't figure out what went wrong with the iTunes built-in converter, but I just found a solution.
I used HandBrake to convert the mp4 files, using the iPod Output Settings. It's not as fast as the iTunes converter, but at least all the files worked both on iTunes and on the iPod.
Right now I'm trying the same thing with PEnGUIn Encoder.

MP4 movie work in Itunes, but will not sync onto 160G Ipod.
